Japan gets 2 late goals to beat Germany 2-1 in World Cup

Another World Cup day, another World Cup shock.

After Saudi Arabia's victory over Argentina, Qatar 2022 saw not only another upset,

but another come-from-behind upset that saw the heavy favorites toppled.

Germany went ahead on Wednesday through an Ilkay Gundogan penalty in the first half,

but Ritsu Doan and Takuma Asano scored as substitutes in the last 15 minutes to turn the tie on its head.

Japan's 2-1 win underlines how unstable this Germany team has become,

especially when they appear to be in control.
